Our hotel in Les Deux Alpes is not only your ticket to great skiing, but also to a large array of sites of extremely interesting cultural and tourism sites. The museum
The local “Mémoires d’alpinisme” museum (Memories of Alpinism) is especially worth a visit. Open in the afternoons during peak seasons, you’ll be able to delve into the hidden history of the Massif des Écrins and the Vénéon Valley across the centuries. Don’t hesitate to complete this journey with a detour to the Maison de la Montagne, part of the natural heritage of the local Oisans district, to discover the history, iconic peaks, geology, fauna and flora of this region of the Alps.
Then for a change of scenery, take the Jandri Express gondola to discover Les Deux Alpes’ brilliant ice caves at 3200 m in altitude (open daily). Under 30 metres of millennial ice, you’ll discover an icy wonderland of sculptures. Something else worth doing is the tour “Behind the Scenes of the Ski Area”, allowing you to get a better idea of the necessary machinery for a ski resort like Les Deux Alpes to run smoothly, such as funiculars, snow machines, ski lifts and control rooms. Finally, a visit to the two picturesque villages of Venosc and Mont de Lans will add a sweet touch of authenticity and warmth to your stay in the resort.
